Kentorri Garmon serves as the Interim Commissioner of the City of Atlanta Department of
Public Works (DPW). With a keen eye for innovation and a knack for team development,
Garmon oversees the department's impressive $103M annual operating budget and guides a
talented team of over 600 employees.
Bringing over 20 years of experience in city government and the private sector, Garmon has
made significant strides since joining the department in 2022 as DPW Director of Performance
and Innovation Delivery. Recognized for his exceptional leadership in areas such as data
analytics, quality control, customer engagement, and the DPW Command Center Teams,
Garmon's strategic approach earned him a swift promotion to the role of deputy commissioner.
His commitment to enhancing organizations through technology integration and fostering a

Works.
Before joining DPW, Garmon served as a key member of ATL311, the customer service center
for the City of Atlanta, where he was instrumental in ensuring top-notch customer service. With
over 17 years of experience in the private sector, Garmon held key positions in telecom
engineering, construction, and fiber to curb initiatives at AT&T. He has also played a pivotal role
in managing operational forces for the restoration and rebuilding of telecom infrastructure in
the wake of severe storms and natural disasters in the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Pine Belt
Regions. Garmon's expertise extends to IT support, endpoint services, and business processes,
which he acquired during his eight-year tenure at Koch Industries. There, he managed tier II
technical support, executive support, and endpoint services teams while leading crucial
enterprise projects.
Garmon's dedication to higher education is evident through his over a decade of experience as
an adjunct instructor, teaching business and managerial courses at multiple institutions. He has
an impressive educational background, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied
Economics and a Master of Science in Geosciences from Mississippi State University, along with
an MBA in finance from Delta State University.
