Alice Xu is the Digital Director at the City of Toronto. To her team, Smart City is about delivering broader quality of life value as a City through the use of data, technology and processes.

Prior to joining the Connected Community/Smart City team in 2019, Alice spend over 10 years cutting her teeth in the vehicle and business licensing and regulatory world. Alice has been instrumental in leading complex projects in various areas, including the Ground Transportation Review (licensing of Uber/Lyft), regulations for rooming houses and a Blockchain proof of concept with the Provincial and Federal governments and the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario.
